Since the bike is often the longest leg of a triathlon, I focus on building muscular endurance that transitions smoothly into the run. I use a strategy of progressive bike effort and normalized power targets, ensuring you start at a sustainable pace and gradually increase your effort to finish strong. For the run, I emphasize fast finishes, simulating race conditions and boosting both physical and mental resilience. I incorporate interval work with race-specific targets for both the bike and run, along with the negative split mentality, to help you conserve energy early and finish with confidence. This combined approach prepares you to maximize your performance on race day, leaving you ready to tackle the bike and run with power and precision.
